Should I include mundane tasks in my routine planner?

You can put in as much or as little as you want into your routine planner. The most important thing is to start creating a routine, and sticking with it. That’s why we created this handy downloadable routine planner here – start by adding in activities you might forget – then add, adapt and build your routine as your needs change. To start with, you might want to just plan in recreational time, such as exercise and socialising, but eventually it will be a great help if you plan out your days and weeks by including all kinds of activity, from getting up and getting washed and dressed to shopping, meal prep and mealtimes. Eventually, you can even add in reminders to drink water, so that you don’t forget anything. Having a routine in place and sticking to it creates a sense of structure, helps to reduce stress and anxiety, and can boost your confidence. Knowing what you’re doing and when is reassuring and comforting and will help with memory issues, too. You can read more about the benefits of routine here .
