I'm worried I will forget to eat

It’s not uncommon for people living with dementia to either forget to eat, or forget they’ve eaten and to eat a meal twice. The problem with memory issues around food is that it can lead to weight loss or weight gain – both of which can cause health issues – and nutritional deficiencies. The best way to ensure you enjoy a nutritious diet is by creating a routine that includes mealtimes. You can download our routine planner here which will help to get you started. A meal plan is also a good idea. By mapping out each meal and adding exactly what you’re going to eat, and when, to your routine planner, you’ll know what you’re eating, when, avoid food waste and create a sense of confidence if you’re prone to memory lapses.
