I'd like to go to a singing group but I don't know if I can sing very well?

Singing is especially beneficial when you’re living with dementia. So much so, there are choirs set up specifically for those with dementia, such as the Alzheimer’s Society’s Singing For The Brain groups. You can also join a regular singing group – most community choirs welcome new members of all levels and abilities – look for one that doesn’t require you to audition if you lack confidence. And it doesn’t matter if you don’t think your singing voice is up to scratch, either – group singing isn’t about how good individual voices are, instead it’s about coming together with others to create music. If you’d like to boost your confidence, you can also look for a singing teacher in your area and go for a few lessons before finding a singing group.
