How can I become more active?

Being active is a great idea when you’re living with dementia. But it can be tricky knowing where to start. You’ll find some great ideas for dementia-friendly ways to move your body here as well as some fun and interesting hobby ideas here as well as tips to get started. But it’s important to note that being active doesn’t always mean taking part in a sport, going to the gym or getting involved in formal exercise. It can also mean simple day-to-day movement, including: *Housework *Gardening *Walking to the shops *Dancing in the kitchen *Gentle stretches and exercises at home *A stroll around the park In fact, anything that involves not sitting down all day and instead moving your body is ‘activity’ and is good for all-round wellbeing.
