Meal Planner

Make eating well simple with a Meal Planner

Get organised and plan – it will help you to shop and avoid waste, too

We know that eating well is key to living well, but this is especially true when you believe you might be living with dementia.

To be sure that you eat a balanced and healthy diet, build meal planning, shopping and prepping into your weekly routine.

We’ve also created a useful Meal Planner – it will help you to get organised, eat healthily, avoid waste and organise your day-to-day living.

Here are some other tips to help you to eat well:

  • Set a timer to remind you when to start preparing a meal – and when to drink water too.

  • Try to get to the shops for fresh food. Online shopping is convenient, but if you only shop online it will be easy to become isolated. Going to the shops in person involves a bit of exercise, which has positive benefits, too. Ask for help if this is difficult for you.

  • Limit sweet treats. The occasional treat is fine, but don’t start to skip meals in favour of biscuits, cakes and ice cream – buy these in limited amounts to stop yourself from grazing on them all day.

  • Store leftovers properly. It’s common for people to forget about surplus food and leave it out on the side – many foods will cause an upset tummy if not stored properly. A planner will help avoid you buying too much.
