Should I be going for a walk everyday?

Ideally, yes. When you’re living with dementia, staying active is really important and walking, like any form of exercise, has numerous benefits for our physical and mental health. From improving cardiovascular health, toning muscles and keeping bones strong to improving mood, walking is an accessible, free, easy way to stay fit. If you can walk in the morning, you’ll enjoy additional benefits. When you’re living with dementia exposure to natural light in the early part of the day helps your biological clock. It signals to the brain that it is day – time to stop sleeping and wake up. You’re likely to feel less sluggish and in need of a daytime nap if you’ve had a morning walk and more likely to be ready for bed in the evening. Try to build a daily walk into your routine .
